Kathleen "Kit"'s Story

Life I work for the Syracuse City School District as a Instructional Learning Systems Specialist--great title, no money. I fix software (and some hardware) problems on Mac computers, as well as being a staff development trainer. In May, 2002, I finally got my Bachelor's degree in Human Services and I'm contemplating working on my Master's--better late than never! I'm pretty happy with my life, with a few exceptions, of course (more money would be nice). I have a husband, daughter, son and daughter-in-law, but no grandchildren, yet. I have great friends and a wonderful family. How does one describe his/her life? Writing this bio has been interesting. There's so much that could be said, yet there's not much either. Getting older makes one think. However, I've decided that I can't do anything about my chronological age, but in mind and spirit, I'm definitely much younger! Update (October 2008)--I'm still with the school district, but now I'm more of a staff developer than anything else. I teach teachers how to use the programs on their computers. I still troubleshoot some of the programs (like the elementary report cards) and our department (Educational Technology) is invol...Expand for more
ved in the school district's ePortfolio project. I have an absolutely adorable (of course) 3 1/2 yr. old grandson. Unfortunately, my son is divorced (her decision, not his), but I suppose he is better off without her. My son is involved is sports announcing and if you live in the Buffalo area, you will hear him doing UB football, women's volleyball and their Bullseye radio show. My daughter is an elementary school librarian. It's a change for her since she had been working in a high school for several years. I've been married to my husband for 37 years. We've had our ups and downs like most couples, but we're pretty much happily married. We're kind of looking forward to retirement (not anytime soon, though) and doing some traveling. We renewed our passports, now we need to start making plans. The gray hairs are coming in (fast), so I decided to go strawberry blonde/red and I finally have the convertible I always wanted. I also had laser eye surgery done about 2 years ago and only need to wear glasses for reading. Boy, has that been a great change. So, when the weather is nice in Syracuse(?) and you see an older redhead flying down 690 in a dark green convertible, it just might be me!
